Mission: Mission 1 - Klingons on Starboard Bow
Location: Legacy's Bridge - Somewhere in the Vicinity of the Klingon Neutral Zone
Timeline: 2261.189 2230

Legacy sped off after the Romulan vessel. However, it was becoming apparent that Legacy would not reach the Klingon Neutral Zone before the Romulan ship. This was the sort of decision that made or broke Captains. Therefore, before she made it, she was going to get all the input she could.

First, she called down to the medbay. =^=Jane, how's your patient, Lieutenant Kennett?=^=

The doctor’s voice came in through the comm. =^= He’s on his way back up, with clearance so long as he comes back when the threat is gone. We're ready for more casualties, though I'd prefer if you didn't send any my way, Cindy. =^=

=^=We would all prefer that,=^= Cindy answered before she called for Bec. =^= Bec, what's that repair status? We've got a situation up here and I need your input =^=

=^= Repairs are going well, =^= Bec reported, wiping her hands on her pants. =^= On my way to the bridge now. =^= she added giving those she'd been working with a nod before departing.

"While we are waiting for Bec, Zoe and Neza, give me everything you can on this area. I want to know what kind of surprises that we might be in for."

Spinning in her chair, Neza sighed. "Not friendly?" She shook her head. "Sorry. It'd be hard enough to navigate since we don't know what all is happening, patrols and such. And we don't know if the Romulans have a safe path or are working with the Klingons in some way."

"Just get me anything you can on the scientific phenomena here. Anything we might be able to use to our advantage or something that could be used to our detriment. I want to know what we could be up against if we go in."

"Understood. I could use more power to the long range sensors but I'll do what I can with what I have." Neza spun back around and worked on getting everything she could for as far out as she scan."

Bec walked onto the bridge just as Neza turned back to her console. "We'll get you more power soon," she said moving to stand near Cindy. "Essential repairs are coming along quickly. We've had to reroute power around some larger repairs that we just don't have the time to complete. Power levels should be back to normalish soon."

Neza nodded, "Thanks. Glad to know I'll be able to get us something if we have to go adventuring in Klingon space."

"The ship is still on course of the neutral zone," Zoe said. "Straight line which leads me to think that maybe they haven't figured out we can track them as yet. That won't be much longer though. As long as we are in sensor range of them, they're in sensor range of us."

"Or they're in a hurry.... Fastest way between two points..." Cindy considered.

"We don't know what their sensor range is like either," Neza stated while looking at her own sensors.

"They're hurt, they're probably trying to accomplish their objective as fast as possible," Bec said, thinking aloud. "If they can see us, it's possible they don't believe we're a threat."

"Possible ... or they are running toward something that will eliminate us as a threat," Zoe said. "More of their own possibly ... or use the Klingons, who might not be able to detect them, as cover for their escape."

Neza spun back to look at Zoe. "Then if they are hidden from the Klingons, there is nothing to give us reason to be in Klingon space."

Zoe remained silent on that point. The Captain had given the order; she was not exhibiting any signs of irrational behavior nor did she seem to be working under duress. It wasn't for her to question a command decision, only to do what she could to keep the ship safe and achieve the goals the Captain set out for them. She turned her attention back to the problem at hand, working it out as she spoke. "IF they'd listen, we could tell the Klingons what's going on but there's no guarantee that that ship out there isn't listening in ... we could just as easily be giving away our only edge."

"We just have to hope luck is on our side. But the Klingons could say we have no reason if they decide not to listen, especially if they can't find the Romulans." Neza spun back, making sure that the readings were still there. She didn't want to lose anything, especially with how close they were to crossing the border.

"Definitely things to consider, Zoe," Cindy replied pensively. "Maybe we can catch them before we have to make that kind of decision."

Ayden made his way back up to the bridge, quickly looking over the repair list. "I'm fine, Cindy," he said absently as he was focused on his work, having missed the question that had been given to Zoe and Neza.

"Good. I'm likely going to need you to pull some miracles."

Raising an eyebrow, Ayden looked up. "You do realize how damaged we are, right? I'll do what I can but...."

"No buts," Cindy answered. "Besides," she teased flirtatiously, "it is against Starfleet regulations on duty." More seriously she continued, "Make it happen, Ayden."

"Fine, no buts," Ayden said while swearing under his breath, trying to catch Bec's eye but not let Cindy catch the eye roll he wanted to give.

Bec shook her head with a smirk. "We can repair on the fly," she said, looking over her shoulder.

Ayden looked over at Bec and caught the smirk. "Don't we always?"

"That we do," Bec said with a chuckle before turning back to Cindy and waiting for orders.
