Mission:
Mission 0 - Christening of Legacy and Crew Arrival
Location: Nearing the Legacy
Timeline: 2261.182 0730
Alastair gently laid his topcoat across his arm that carried his possessions, making sure not to snag his watch in the process. London had been unseasonably cold, and his departure point didn't feel much better to him. His eyes and head followed the hustle and bustle of people trying to get things squared away for the Legacy's departure, hopefully on time. His father had always told him that being right on time is fifteen minutes late, so being tardy wasn't in his nature.
Finding his proper place as he walked, he passed by some rather overexcited crew members gossiping and giggling about various things, making him quietly sigh and roll his eyes.
“I thought that the immature had been weeded out by graduation, appears I was incorrect.”
His words must have been heard from another close to him, who shot him a nasty glance. He was a crewman, and the officer didn't care much for the opinion of someone who couldn't hack it at the Academy. He had better things to do than please a person who, from what he had read, wouldn't be on board the Legacy when they departed. So much the better, for the ship only had so much space and he expected the best from those in his department and wouldn't tolerate incompetence. Granted, there were things they would encounter while in space but there are events those trained to handle them should be able to handle.
He quietly accepted his ID as it was returned to him before being allowed to board, striding confidently, knowing that his talents would be better used out in space versus on any research facility that Starfleet possessed. He grinned as he went along as he thought:
“Now we know we'll have at least one genius aboard.”
