Bec walked into the gym, giving a small smirk when she walked past the bench Neza had been laid upon. There were a few people in the gym, finishing up their workouts, who gave Bec curious looks, but she ignored them. She moved to the back wall and leaned against it, waiting for Doc Dering to arrive. She checked the time, hoping she'd gotten the date and time right. 'Should have double checked his message before I left,' she thought, adjusting the tank top she'd worn.
Cole walked in a few minutes late, as usual, and smiled when he seen her. "Hey there, Bugs." his eyes looked her over, "Ready for a good old fashion stress test?"
"I'm ready for anything you throw at me," she winked and pulled herself off the wall. "What's first, Doc?"
Cole couldn't help but inwardly laugh. "We'll start with something easy," he said, waving for her to follow him. He lead over to a treadmill. "We'll start with this."
"Alright," Bec sounded almost bored. She stepped up onto the treadmill and looked down at Cole. "A steady walk to start or will you have me running?"
"A steady walk," Cole replied, entering into the machine himself how fast he wanted her to go. "And cheer up," he gave her a knowing sideways smile, "It isn't all that bad."
Bec faked a yawn and began to walk, tossing a smile at Cole. "I do hope it gets a bit more exciting," she teased, walking along on the treadmill finding it easy and not stressing at all. "I gotta say, this isn't very... heart pumping..."
"No, it's not," he had to agree, and then his mind went back to his evening with Neza. He smiled with a far off look. "There are much more enjoyable physical activities..." he angled his head, "ones with 'incredible' health benefits..."
Bec leaned down with a grin. "Those activities are quite fun," she said into his ear. "And if you day dream too much you might start drooling."
"Oh...yeah.." he straightened out. His face began to turn red and he smiled. "So, how's this?" He punched a finger on the treadmill's control panel, causing it to move much faster.
"Heh, barely a test," Bec said as she picked up her pace and began to run steadily. "Come on Doc, I was a security officer, I know how to run..." she laughed as she pulled the tank top off. It was bouncing around too much and annoying her. Now she was running on the treadmill in tight exercise pants and a sports bra.
A sight that often came with the job, Cole was use to it, yet still always appreciative of the view. He made himself look down at her readings. "Looking healthy so far, Commander." He looked back up and smirked at her, his eyes taking all of her in, "How about a little bit faster," before touching on the controls again, speeding it up much faster.
"Oooh, I like it fast," she grinned at him, tossing her tank top at him as she picked up the pace. "I thought you said this was a stress test, it's not even hard yet."
The tank top hitting him, he inwardly laughed. "Well, it's actually a good thing you're not finding this hard. We'll make sure you still feel that way ten minutes from now."
Chuckling, Bec continued to run at a steady pace. "Ten minutes, huh? Well, good thing I was built for endurance," she was starting to sound out of breath a little, though still able to talk.
Just because, Cole decided to speed it up just a little bit faster. "So tell me, how are things going for the Legacy's First Officer?"
Laughing at both the increase in speed and the question, Bec picked up the pace. "Interesting," she said simply, giving him a shrug. "Gaining rumours like flies," she laughed at this as though this was nothing that bothered her. "How about you, Doc?"
"Well..." Cole inwardly laughed, "it's been interesting for me too... But rumours?" his brow furrowed in curiosity, "About what? I haven't heard any."
"Eh, some people don't like my idea of fun, that's all," Bec was starting to feel a bit tired, but wasn't going to let Dering know that. "Nothing I find important."
"Ah," Cole said although he felt a little skeptic. He looked down at her readings. "so what is your idea of fun?" he asked while commanding the treadmill to slow down.
She slowed her pace along with the treadmill and smirked at Cole. "Flirting, mischief," she shrugged. "Some people think it's unbecoming of an executive officer, I think it's all just a bit of fun."
"I think it all depends," he smiled, relating on some level, "If you're not harming yourself or others, it doesn't affect your work or the morale of the crew, it shouldn't matter."
"I don't think it's causing any issues," Bec said with a shrug. "All done in good humour, I stop if someone tells me to stop." She smiled. "I don't see the harm in it."
"Alright," he raised an eyebrow, looking really interested, "you've really raised my curiosity."
She leaned down to him and smirked. "Ah, but I don't kiss and tell," she whispered before straightening up and returning to the running he'd had her doing. She was getting quite bored with this activity and it was starting to show on her face.
Ahhh, Cole mouthed and then slightly smiled, "I see. Well.." he turned off the machine, "You're in great shape and you're free to go. I'll try to make it more interesting next time." His smile grew.
"Alright, Doc, if you say so," Bec teased, hopping off the treadmill and snagging her tank top. "See you around then," she blew him a kiss and gave him a wink before heading out of the gym.
