Mission 2 - Love ORION Mistaken
Location: Captain's Quarters
"I am prepared to brief him on health and safety," T'Kal replied. "However, I would request that he not be shown information regarding the current state of Doctor Sinclair. If he is a spy, as you say, then her career might be jeopardized if her were to report it along his channels."
"That seems like the best idea." Cindy looked back at Bec. "Should I bring him in?"
"Yeah, I can't wait to see his reaction to this," Bec said, the wicked grin still plastered on her face.
Cindy called over the comm, =^=Lieutenant Eric Thornton, this is Captain Cindy, please report to my quarters immediately. =^= She then turned to Bec and T'Kal and asked, "I wonder what he will think of that."
"He probably thinks you're calling for a booty call that he can't answer," Bec teased.
"I seriously doubt that he thinks that I am interested in him," Cindy answered with a laugh. "And I highly doubt that he has the least bit of interest in me other than to advance his 'fabulous' career." Cindy put air quotations in the air when she said the word, "fabulous."
"Oh, he has interest in you for that, I guarantee it! He's that scumbag Admiral's watchdog afterall! Here to make sure any screwups are reported so he can kick you out of Starfleet!" Bec glowerd for a moment before shaking her head.
The chime rang and once he was welcomed in, Eric strutted into the room. His hair was a very light blonde, almost white. However, down the center, his hair was dyed green to match his eyes and spiked. He wore a gold jeweled necklace and had a circular gold earring in each ear. In a musical high pitched voice, he exclaimed, "Oh! My beautiful Captain and Commander! There you are! I'm SO delighted to see you! It has been wwwwaaaayyyy too long since we have sent a PR message home. I am sssssooooooo glad that you called me."
He then looked at the Vulcan and asked, "May I ask why SHE is here, Captain and Commander?" His voice conveyed suspicion and his disdain that anyone else would dare take attention away from him and his job.
Cindy giggled lightly and said, "Eric, Bec has a special topic that she would like to discuss with you. She thinks that you are particularly suited to the task."
Eric's green eyes lit up and he turned his full attention to Bec, his hands going to either side of his face. "Really? For me? Oh, Commander, please tell me whatever it is that I can do for you. I am so glad that you are finally able to entrust me with a mission of my own."
Grumbling under her breath about being thrown under the bus, Bec glared at Cindy before turning to Eric. "We need you to spend some time with our Orion guest. Find out as much as you can about her. You have a knack for getting people to talk, so who better to get information out of Vivyra than you?"
His eyes lit up! "Oh, my goodness!" He held his hand towards his heart and sucked in more breath than was necessary. He then waved his hand in front of his face a few times and asked, "Do you mean it? I mean, little ol' me, talking to the mysterious Orion?"
He mulled the thought dramatically before continuing, "Well, I must say that I really would like to get to know her and I bet that would be wonderful PR for Legacy! After all, making interstellar friends, that's what it's all about, right?" He beamed positively at Bec before saying, "And to think that I thought you didn't appreciate me, Commander! How could I have been such a foolish boy?"
"Pardon me, Lieutenant," said T'Kal, not knowing what to make of the PR officer. "The Captain has requested that I give you a short briefing on the safe handling of our Orion guest."
"Safe handling?" Eric asked. "WhatEVER could be a possible concern about our Orion guest?"
The Vulcan nurse picked her next words carefully. "Probably nothing. However we are doing a test to ensure it is nothing. We request that she remain isolated with you for the next while. She will stay in her quarters, though you can bring anything she needs or wants to her, aside from other people. And this is a key part of the test, under no circumstances shall you touch her. Please wear gloves. Perhaps there is some stylish glove that will look good with your uniform?" she offered. "The test fails if she knows about it, so please do not let on that something is happening. Perhaps...you are concerned about germs?"
"Oh, who isn't concerned about germs, darling?! But seriously, would not any germs have been picked up and sorted out in transport? I was always told it was so. And as to gloves," Eric waved his entire arm out at T'Kal, "that is so not a problem! I have at least five pairs. Tell me, what kind of gloves do you think would be best? Half arm? Over the elbow? Just to the wrist? Oh, such decisions to be made!"
T’Kal raised an eyebrow and looked to the Captain and First Officer. “That decision, Mister Thornton, I will leave in your capable hands. So to speak.”
Bec bit her lip to keep from smirking over T'Kal's obvious discomfort with Thornton. While it was not amusing to be on the receiving end of the flamboyant man's attentions, it was hilarious to see him make others squirm. She wondered how this whole test was going to go down though. Calming her facial expressions in a feat worthy of a Vulcan's praise, Bec looked almost solemn as she sat there.
The pleased communications officer smiled. "Oh! Such decisions to make. I must make sure that everything matches so! I can't have our guest thinking that I am a slob, now can we? Thank you Sssssooooo MUCH Captain for trusting me with this. I will not let you down, or you Commander!" With that, he strutted out like a drag queen on the runway.
Cindy looked at Bec and T'Kal and asked, "So, what do you think?"
T’Kal hesitated to answer, but knew that her superior had asked her a direct question. “There have been better plans, Captain. But this is the only one at our disposal. And it can work.”
"It had better," Cindy answered with a little more frustration than she intended. "I do need to speak to Neza and go over her report again. It doesn't sit right with me."
"I agree, this had better work, it's a long shot, but that man is a weasel." Bec rubbed the back of her neck. She didn't like the fact that Neza's report was troubling Cindy, but she also didn't want to let personal bias get in the way of her job. "Shall we leave you to it then?"
"You can stay, Bec but I suspect T'Kal is going to be needed in the med bay. Thank you for coming, T'Kal. I appreciate your assistance in this matter."
“Captain, Commander,” T’Kal said, nodding to both superior officers. Dismissed, she left the Captain’s quarters and returned to sickbay.
