Mission: Mission 0 - Christening of Legacy and Crew Arrival
Location: Lounge
Timeline: 2261.184 2125

Bec wandered into the lounge, it was becoming her new habit now, to spend her evenings in the lounge with the rest of the crew. She grabbed a whiskey on the rocks and wandered to an empty table near the back of the room. She sat in a chair facing the crew that had already gathered there and used a second chair to prop her feet upon. She hummed along with the music, slowly sipping her drink as she watched the others.

“That’s a interesting drink for a lady?” Haas commented, looking at the officer who sat near a table near the bar. He took a sip of his own whiskey.

"Who said I'm a lady?" Bec shot back, raising and eyebrow and smirking at the man.

“I was being courteous.” Haas replied with a smirk. “Lieutenant Steffan Haas, I don’t believe we’ve met yet.”

"Lieutenant Commander Bec Hudson," she said then shrugged. "I don't believe we have, but your name was on my list to hunt down, so I guess this is a win for both of us."

“I’m on a list. I hope it’s a good list.” Haas replied with a smirk.

"That's up to interpretation. It's titled 'The First Officer's List of people to Meet before Captain Cindy finds a way to punish her'. Bit wordy, I'm trying to find a shorter title," Bec chuckled, wondering when she became so lame. Maybe she didn't have enough drink in her yet.

“Perhaps just go with ‘The First Officer’s list.’” Haas replied with a smirk and a shrug. “So you’re the first officer? A pleasure to meet you, may I join you?” He asked gesturing towards the free seat on the other side of the table.

"Sure," Bec moved her foot to push the free chair out for him, then settled it back atop the other. "Pleasure to meet you as well Haas. What brings you to Legacy? Standard reassignment or did you choose her?"

“Erm, standard reassignment.” The Lieutenant lied. He didn’t want it to be common knowledge that Admiral Wheeler has asked him to join Legacy. “She seems like a fine ship. I’m looking forward to serving on her.” He said with a smile.

"She's got quite the history for a new ship," Bec said with a smile. "I hope we have many great adventures with her. Captain Cindy also has quite the personality. I don't know if we'll have anything less than an interesting time here. Speaking of interesting," she gave him a cheeky grin. "What do you like to do for fun?"

Steffan nodded as the Commander spoke. He sipped his drink before answering her question. “Poker.” He simply said with a smile. “I love a good game of poker. I’ll happily take the shirt of a mans back when I’m on a winning streak.”

"So you like to play strip poker with other men?" Bec teased, grinning mischievously at him over her glass before taking a sip. "I prefer more physical pastimes, myself."

“No, but I’ll happily strip a man of his clothes if they’re well made.” He replied with a smirk. “I used to play rugby, but not played for years now.”

"I was a security officer before becoming the ex-oh," Bec smiled. "I like rough sports, sparring... never played rugby. I was on a hockey team in the Academy. That was always good fun. Got kicked off the women's team for being too rough, so I went to the co-ed team."

Haas nodded, “Very impressive. I gave up rugby after I had more broken bones than tries. I think I’ll stick to poker. Means I can drink more whisky too.” He said with a smirk as he raised his glass before downing the remainder on its contents.

Laughing, Bec also downed the rest of her drink. "Maybe we should get a poker night going," she said after dropping her glass back onto the table. She leaned in conspiratorially and whispered, "maybe even arrange a round of strip poker..."

“Now there’s an idea. Perhaps it could be a weekly arrangement. We’ll have to find a proper location to host it though.” Haas thought out loud. “Strip poker isn’t as fun as it sounds. You see some god awful sights.” He added as he placed his empty glass on the table.

"You're no fun," Bec said with a playful pout. "For location, it depends on how our dear Captain views the game. If she's ok with it, we can make a spot on the recreation deck, if not, well, I'll sort out a spot each week." She grinned devilishly. "Also, strip poker is a blast, provided you choose your opponents correctly. I've always had a fun time with it, then again, I usually only have one or two opponents, sometimes three..."

“I’ll leave it in your hands to see what the Captain wants to do.” Haas replied with a cheeky smile. “As for strip poker, it’s not for the faint hearted. You need to be bold to play that with strangers.”

"Bold is my middle name," Bec grinned, dropping her feet to the floor and sitting up in her seat. "As the saying goes, fortune favours the bold," she smirked at him. "And I like fortune." She leaned onto the table a bit and re-positioned herself in her seat. "We could always get a game in now... if you're up for it?"

“Not tonight, Commander. I’m not wearing my lucky pants today.” The Comms Officer replied with a smirk.

"Well, you're just no fun," Bec said with a laugh. She leaned back in her seat and spun her empty glass. "You'll have to make sure you find them in time for the first game," she teased.

“Don’t you worry, I know exactly where they are.” He said with a smile. “Are you an avid poker player?”

"I used to be," Bec nodded. "I haven't played in a while. My last crew... well... an incident led me to stop trusting them enough to play poker with them anymore, so I stopped. Wasn't sure I would find anyone here to have fun with," she admitted. "But now that I know there's at least one other interested party, I'll do my best to get some games going."

“If you need any help arranging or finding somewhere to play, please let me know. Two heads are better than one after all.” Steffan replied with a grin.

"I don't know if I'll have too much trouble, but I'm always open to putting our heads together," she smirked. Normally Bec didn't have any trouble flirting, but this one was a tough nut to crack. She raised an eyebrow at him as she waited for his response.

“Well, the offer is there, Commander.” Haas replied with a smile before looking at the ships chronometer. “Blimey, I best get to bed, I have the early shift tomorrow.”

"As do I," Bec said with a shrug. "But spending time with others is much more fun than sleeping..." she teased.

“Oh, I completely agree, however as this is a new assignment I want to keep my focus.” Steffan replied with a shrug of the shoulders. “You should probably get to bed yourself.”

"I should," she agreed. "But which bed should I choose?" Bec smirked at him.

“Probably your own?” Haas replied with shrug.

"Again, you are no fun," She said with a pouty frown. "Fiiine, I'll choose my own," she rolled her eyes, but smirked at him. She picked up her glass and stood. "Well, it was fun chatting with you. I'll let you know what Cindy says about the poker game. Have a good night, Haas."

The Lieutenant smirked, he knew what the Commander was trying to do but he just wasn’t interested. “Good night, Commander. I’ll see you on the bridge in the morning.”
