Mission: Mission 1 - Klingons on Starboard Bow
Location: Legacy's Bridge - Somewhere in the Vicinity of K-6
Timeline: 2261.189 2215

"Brace for impact," Cindy had commanded. The plasma energy hit Legacy and rocked it severely. However, whatever hit them, did not destroy them and the shields held. "Departments, report!" Cindy asserted with firmness, though a bit of pleasure entered her voice.

"Bec," she said looking at her XO. "We survived. I think this weapon has limitations!" Excitement was all over Cindy's voice. "We need to chase that Romulan down and bring it home, don't you think?"

Feeling elated that they were still in one piece, Bec grinned at Cindy. "You're damn right I do," she said jovially. The adrenaline in her system completely shut that part of her brain that should have filtered that comment out for something more befitting of an executive officer, and Bec didn't care.

She looked at Zoe and asked, "Any analysis from you?"

The hit had sent her to the floor. Zoe did a slow rotation of her head followed by cautious movements of her extremities. Delighted that nothing was broken, she climbed to her feet and consulted her console. "Shields at 60 percent. Weapons are still operational, Cindy," she reported. "Not that it makes much sense. This is a weapon that can take out a station ... and yet, we remain intact?"

Cindy sat down, a bit relieved, her mini skirt hiking up on her. She continued to wait for reports from all departments, hoping the news was better than mere survival.

Neza had fallen next to her seat and pulled herself back up, checking the sensors. “Trying to get a read on anything out there that I can,” she groaned, aching from hitting the deck.

“Getting damage reports from engineering. Will sort them out...once my head stops spinning...” Ayden stated from the engineering console, having hit his head and there was a gash bleeding down his face.

Frowning at the gash on Ayden's face, Bec moved from her seat at helm and grabbed the first aid kit. Without a word she went over to him and began working on the wound, stopping the bleeding and bandaging it up, using the basic field medic training she'd gotten over the years. "I'd say you've got a concussion, but I'm not a doctor," she said pulling back and examining her handiwork.

Ayden let Bec work on, but agreed with the concussion thoughts. "The way my head is spinning? I won't argue with that. But, there's work to do, right? I'll get checked later." He was glad it was her treating his gash, though couldn't say anything.

"No," Cindy countermanded. "You will get it checked out now. I can't have an officer losing ability to think or fainting on me. "Get to the medbay, now, Lieutenant Ayden. Bec will man your station after she gets us heading back to where the Romulan ship was."

She stood up and looked at Zoe, "Seems they have a range limit on their weapon and who knows how much time it takes for a recharge. Can you find that ship again? If I were them, I would have made haste after turning invisible again."

Swearing under his breath, Ayden knew he wouldn't win. "Yes, ma'am," he said with a heavy sigh. They were right. He gave Bec an appreciative smile for patching him up and headed off to sickbay, hoping it was quick.

Neza had mostly been listening, and letting her brain run around. "Or they are doing a weapon recharge? We don't know if they need to or anything but...can we still try to relocate them and get out of the original range of their shot?"

Zoe spoke, without looking up, "I am tracking the particle emissions and I can see the direction of travel which is basically, where they were. Frustrating as it is, unless the situation changes, I can't find them. Did you want me to set up another torpedo net, Cindy?"

With a nod, Bec moved back to helm and began plotting a course back to where they had previously been. Her hands moved over the console somewhat hesitantly. "We are headed to where we were when we found them. I just hope we can withstand another of their 'warning' shots...."

"At the same intensity," Zoe said, "We could withstand another hit but not two."

"What I wouldn't give for more distance from them," Neza stated absently from science. "Don't like being so close."

Cindy replied, "Let's not have to stand two, then. If you have any thoughts about being further away and stopping them, I'm all ears," she told her crew."

Then, touching the comm, she asked, =^= Doctor Cole, =^= Cindy stopped and shook her head. The name seemed familiar but something was wrong. She did not have a Doctor Cole. She had a Doctor Sinclair. How could she have made that mistake? Starting again, she asked, =^= Doctor Sinclair, how many people are out for the potential next battle? Has Lieutenant Kennett made it there yet? =^=

=^= Jane here, Captain, =^=, the doctor called from sickbay. Her team was running frantic helping casualties, though thankfully none too serious. Yet. =^= Twenty-seven injured, but reports are still coming in. So far nothing serious. Mostly burns from power surges, a few cuts and scrapes from being tossed around, some concussions. Could be worse, Cindy. As for Lieutenant Kennett...here he is now, =^= she finished as the young man entered her domain.

Neza looked over at Cindy. "Cole..." she whispered. She had very distinct memories all of a sudden of him, but why? The guy didn't exist, right?

=^= Thank you, Jane. Just be warned, we may have more serious casualties coming in. We're going to cause some trouble up here. I hope to make your job as easy as possible, though. =^= Cindy then turned at Neza, who she heard whisper, "Cole." How very odd.... We both can't be hallucinating or having deja vu over someone that does not exist, can we? Cindy pushed the thought to the side. Right now, they had Romulans and a deadly weapon to contend with.

Bec blinked when Cindy said 'Cole' first. She was starting to worry about her, she kept saying names that were not part of their personnel, but at the same time the name was familiar. She brished it off, thinking that she probably had a fling with someone named Cole at some point or another. "What trouble are we getting up to this time, Cindy?"

Shaking her head clear, Neza thought back on what they were working on. "With repair going on, I don't dare ask for more sensor power. The power is needed elsewhere. I could extend the in depth sensor range and keep us further away. But with a damaged ship, I don't want to chance us needing that power elsewhere."

Cindy nodded at Neza's thoughts. "Bec? Zoe? What do you think? Wait for repairs or chase now? I am concerned that if we let them go, we may lose them altogether. They also may be hurt based on our first volley...." Cindy's thoughts drifted as she tried to sort the varying strategies. This was not her strength and she knew it. She hoped that Bec and Zoe could help her pinpoint the best tactical direction.

Zoe had been hunched over the console, watching for the particle stream from the ship, and not finding anything. The first burst, after the attack, had indicated a direction of travel and so she followed that and then shifted her focus to assume a change in direction, a painstaking process, but necessary. Damaged or not, the Legacy was the only vessel out here and other stations could be at risk. "If we wait," Zoe said, without looking up, "another station could pay the ... wait ..." There was a faint, nearly imperceptible trail. "Found them, Cindy. Looks like they're ..." She checked the calculations and nodded. "Yes, they're on track for the neutral zone. Moving away at warp. There's a very faint, intermittent trail, as though something were starting to leak a bit."

Looking over to Zoe, Neza heard what she was saying and checked her own information. "Very faint. I wouldn't have noticed that. That is..wow.." She looked back to Cindy. "If they're leaking, they'll be vulnerable."

Zoe nodded. "Not much of a leak so can't say how vulnerable they are but still, its enough to track them ... at least until they get the repairs done. Still on track for the neutral zone."

"I agree with Zoe. If we wait for repairs, we risk another station being attacked. We need to keep after them," Bec said, still at helm. She turned to face Cindy and frowned. "I suggest going after them, sending another volley at them. Hope we can disable their engines, that device that hides them, or the weapon."

"Let's get there, then. Maximum warp. Bec, oversee the repairs. Priority to weapons and shields."
