Mission: Mission 1 - Klingons on Starboard Bow
Location: Briefing Room

When the Chiefs left, Cindy looked at her Executive Officer and asked, "What's your thoughts?"

"I don't like the way Hallewell treats his subordinates," she said right off the bat, then leaned back in her chair. "But he has good ideas. The others had good ideas as well."

Cindy nodded. "Clearly it is his intellect and not his charm that got him to this point. We're going to have to work on his bedside manner. Would you believe that I had to scold him and Ensign Glenn for their behaving like children. I would have thought that two Brits would have gotten along wonderfully. Phil probably would have figured out the problem between them much more quickly than myself."

"You probably will sort it faster than me," Bec said with a cheeky grin. "My idea would be to lock them in the brig together until they learned to get along, but no one else seems to like this idea."

"I'm pretty sure that there are regulations against those sorts of things," Cindy said laughing lightly. She then gave Bec a mischievous grin. "Aren't you the person that is supposed to be keeping me in line?"

With a look of pure mischief, Bec raised her hands as though shrugging. "Me... keep anyone in line?" she laughed at this. "I think you've been given the wrong exoh for that. And, to be honest," she leaned in conspiratorially, "there are very few regulations regarding what to do when disciplining your officers for conduct unbecoming."

"Trust me," Cindy said with a wry chuckle, "I found one of them when I was younger." A fond smile of reminiscence crossed her face. "Still pretty sure it was worth it."

Bec leaned back a little and gave Jackson an incredulous look. "I'm pretty sure there's a story here, and I'm definitely sure I would like to hear it," she grinned.

"Not much of a story, I'm afraid, though, it was a lot of fun at the time." She shrugged unapologetically. "It actually is on my record, so it is public knowledge. His name was Mark Craig. He was a Lieutenant at the time. Six foot six and these eyes that you just got lost in. I don't know how to describe it. I would have done anything for him. He had some sort of power over me. The sex was incredible. Oh, my God!" She elongated the word, "God" and her eyes rolled back into her head momentarily with the pleasant memories.

"Well," she continued, after the reminiscent euphoria passed, "we started getting really experimental and risky in our behaviors to the point that we didn't quite finish a quickie in a turbolift and were caught in a compromising position.I was reassigned and admonished. It was amazing, though."

Bec's face went from her standard surly look to one of pure incredulence. "I read there was an incident in a turbo lift, but it didn't go into detail," she laughed. "Probably because sex is too beneath them to discuss in official reports." She couldn't help but giggle at the thought of Jackson in a compromising position in the lift. "I'll keep in mind to not have any quickies in the turbolifts though, no matter how much fun it would be."

"Better, Bec. If you do it, don't get caught or make sure that it is worth it." She then shifted slightly uncomfortably and whispered. "Incidentally, I don't want to pry but is there a reason that your command code was used to lock the gym? There's a lot of chatter on the Ticker Tape...."

"I wanted a private workout session," Bec said keeping a neutral look on her face. "Ensign Glenn happened to be in the gym as well, we had a...sparring match," she tried to come up with a reason without essentially kissing and telling.

"A sparring match," Cindy repeated skeptically, a knowing grin starting to spread across her face. "There's certainly no reason to close the gym if you were just sparring, Bec."

Bec couldn't hold back the mischievous grin anymore. "Like I said, we wanted a private session," her eyes twinkled as she spoke. "But I promise it won't happen again. Any future sessions will take place in my quarters."

"I would strongly suggest that, Bec." Cindy shook her head and giggled. "Well!" she exclaimed, having an epiphany. "That certainly explains a great deal of matters!" Her voice then took on a more confidential tone and said, "But an ensign, Bec? I'm not the best one to be giving this kind of advice, but be careful. OK?"

"What exactly does it explain?" Bec raised her eyebrows. "And I'm always careful," she held her hands up in a slightly defensive manner, though her expression was still mischievous. "Though I should have a talk with her, before more rumours start flying," she sighed, hating the rumour mill.

Cindy agreed, nodding. "As to what it explains, let's just say that I thought her and her superior might be a match. After all, they're both British...." She blushed lightly.

"Well," Bec laughed. "I don't know about her superior, but she definitely has a thing for Doctor Dering, though I can't blame her there, he has very lovely... assets..." She grinned devilishly. "I don't know if Hallewell would consider anyone here worthy of his attentions," she thought aloud, but then shrugged. "I tend to stay away from matchmaking though. I usually fail horribly at matching."

For a flash, Bec could have sworn that she saw Cindy's eyes darken. However, if they did, whatever caused it was gone nearly instantaneously. "The Doctor is definitely easy on the eyes. Funny and kind, too. Really a good guy. But, yeah, apparently, I'm no good at matchmaking, either. Best for both of us to stay away from it. But, we're going to have to find a way to deal with Hallewell if he continues to be so overbearing."

Bec leaned back slightly when she noted Jackson's eyes flash dark. She wondered if she'd said anything that had upset Jackson, but didn't want to ask. "I'm sure once all the kinks are worked out and schedules are set, everything will settle down," she said with a shrug. "But he is one to keep an eye on."

Cindy nodded. "I guess we're done here. Hopefully the crew will get some answers for us soon. This is definitely quite the mystery."

"That it is," Bec nodded as well. "I will go through what I can of the base's records as well, see if anything stands out to me. Is there anything else you would like me to do?"

"Keep on top of our departments. I want to know the moment we discover anything."

"Yes'm," Bec grinned, donning a fake southern accent as she said the word. She stood and looked at Jackson. "Well enjoy the rest of your evening, Cap'n."

Cindy shook her head at her XO and watched as she left the briefing room, leaving Cindy to her own thoughts.
