Mission 0 - Christening of Legacy and Crew Arrival
Location: Legacy Bridge
Timeline: 2261.185 2000
After the meeting with Admiral Wheeler, Cindy was trying to make sure between her and Bec that they got everyone that they possibly could get on board Legacy. She had little time and yet, she had not met so many people. One of them she noticed was a late arrival, her Chief Helm Officer. From looking at a PADD, she thought she recognized him at the banquet.
Making a beeline to the bridge, she hoped that she would find him there. If his resume was any indication, he was probably pawing all the controls and making sure that everything was to his own preferences.
Jasper Noakes preferred a path of least resistance. Royden had indelicately pushed Jasper forward to accept this position. It came with a promotion. It made him a chief. And if he hadn't, he'd likely be throwing skipping stones into California's Pacific coast, or watching overly baked muscles squeezed into too-tight trunks flirt with girls. He wasn't sure this had all been a good idea yet. He'd scarcely met anyone and had ended up floating through the procession of graybeards more interested in self-congratulation and the various newsfeed drones than much else.
Now, in his black undershirt and uniform pants, he hovered over a pot of coffee, watching it burble, brew and drip thick black energy. If there was a constant in Jasper's life, it was the unending search of finding a decent cup of coffee in space. It hadn't happened yet. But he could at least call it an ambition in life. That, and flying. With a final chime, the brewing machine signaled it was done. Jasper picked it up and sipped it. The search continued, he decided. His break nearly done, Jasper found his uniform shirt, set his coffee down and threaded it back on.
Coffee back in hand he made his way back to the Bridge, slipping into the turbolift with the Captain herself. "Sir,"he acknowledged friendly enough, a modestly shy smile on his face as he took a position facing forward to the doors. He sipped his coffee.
Cindy laughed. "Please, call me Cindy, or if you must, Captain Cindy. I certainly don't look like a sir and don't want to be called ma'am. Please, be at ease." She walked closer to him, the dress miniskirt uniform still on from the banquet, but the hat in an unknown location. Her legs were strong and athletic; her smile contagious. "You were a late addition, Jasper. What brought you here so late?"
