Mission: Mission 3 - Coming Full Circle
Location: Racquetball Courts

Cindy was happy to be off duty. She definitely wanted to speak with Luke about their encounter on the racquetball courts. After all, they needed to clear the air between them.

However, just thinking about racquetball courts made Cindy realize that she was going to be late if she did not hurry. How could she have forgotten? She had a date with Ben. Normally, Cindy did not go for smaller men. Luke, of course, had been an exception due to the Orions but there was something about Ben. He had not been intimidated by her and was willing to call her Cindy right off the bat. There also was that playfulness associated with him. And, she loved a good game.

Arriving slightly late, she found that the racquetball court was open and Ben was staring out the door that Cindy entered. "Hm. Tell me, Cindy, is there some sort of penalty in this game for being late? Do I score several points?"

Cindy threw back her hair and laughed. She could not think of why she had not tied it back in a ponytail. That would have been more efficient for playing but she did not think that Ben had much of a chance. He intimated as much when they originally met on the bridge. "Oh, I think you have definitely scored points," she replied back. "Just a moment while I get a rubber band or something to tie my hair back."

"Oh, no. You come unprepared then you have to play unprepared. I think that's a sufficient penalty for right now, don't you?" He gave Cindy a playful grin.

"So, you would take advantage of a girl?" she turned the conversation back on Ben.

"Cindy, you are no girl. We had this conversation on the day that we met, so do not try and play the game of being manly again. You are a beautiful and attractive woman who I plan on taking advantage of on the racquetball court, as much as I can."

"Is that a fact?" Cindy replied with a sly grin, her eyes sparkling blue. "Well, far be it from me to see if you can make good on that boast!"

"Very well, it seems that I have won the serve, as well."

"Have you?" Cindy asked inquisitively. "How do you figure?"

"You were late."

"I see. Taking advantage of me at every opportunity, Ben? Oh, whatever shall I do?"

Ben simply grinned at Cindy. "Well, I can think of a few things but we have a game to play, do we not?" Without waiting, he bounced the ball and served it. The ball caromed to Cindy's left.

An athlete who was more than used to a few of these tricks, Cindy rushed to her left and returned the ball. It was not a powerful shot, but it was enough to hit the front wall and give her time to recover for the next volley.

Ben quickly ran up to the shot and slammed it so that it was returned low and to Cindy's right.

Competitive to the last, Cindy scrambled up and then dove for the ball. Unfortunately for her, she misjudged or mistimed the dive and ball hit off the end of her racquet, causing the ball to ricochet off into the side wall.

"Point for me," Ben replied happily. He then looked as Cindy got up. "You OK?"

Cindy threw her hair back and laughed. "What? Do you just want me to say that you should come and kiss it better?"

"There are worse lines," he admitted.

"I'm a lot tougher than that, Ben. Your serve again." She grinned menacingly at her helmsman, daring him to serve the ball. She was more than a little confident she was going to beat this twerp at his own game. Just thinking that, she knew that her competitive side was coming out and she knew that she was going to win. She bent down into a ready stance, waiting for the serve.

Or at least she she was waiting for the serve. Rather than bounce the ball, Ben stode up to Cindy confidently and pressed his lips against hers. Cindy's eyes widened in surprise but she settled into the kiss. Ben broke it and then aske playfully, "Does that feel better?"

Grinning, Cindy replied, "Oh, that definitely feels better but I think that I know what would feel better than even this...."

Ben asked, "What?" and then laughed after waiting for Cindy's eyes widened.

"You're going to get it!" Cindy exclaimed.

"I was counting on it," Ben countered.

Cindy threw her hair back and laughed prettily. "You're too much."

"That's what all the women say."

"There had better be no other women."

"Other women?" Ben asked innocently. "I thought you were the only one in the galaxy."

"Nice save."

"If only you had done that on the last volley, you would not be down 1-0."

"I think that you had better quit while you're ahead," Cindy told Ben.

Ben walked to the door. "Sounds like a great idea. First one to my quarters wins!"

Cindy called out, "Make it mine. More private."

Ben shouted out, "Yours, then!" and started running out of the racquetball courts.

Cindy rushed after him. She knew the way to the turbolift but she did not see Ben there waiting for it. He must have caught it. Damn it! She then moved over to a jefferies tube and started climbing through it. Scrambling through the bowels of the Legacy, she quickly made her way to her quarters. Ben was not there.

She entered her quarters and then stripped down to her exercise bra and lied seductively on her bed. There was no chime. Time ticked and she knew that he would have to be here by now. Something was wrong.

"Computer, what is the location of Lieutenant Benjamin Chiles?"

The computer answered, "There is no Lieutenant Chiles on the Legacy."

"What?" Cindy got off her bed and strolled to the mirror. She pulled out a medkit and ran a diagnostic on herself. There seemed to be nothing out of the ordinary other than an increase in her oxytocin levels and the presence of the orion pheromones, though those levels were dropping. What is going on here? Should I go to yellow or red alert? I had better get a second opinion.
