Discussing Security Protocols

Mission: Mission 3 - Coming Full Circle
Location: Bec's Quarters

A 5'7" tall woman pressed the chime to Bec's quarters. Her sharp jawline, and the stark contrast between her blue eyes and red hair made her to appear an intimidating figure. However, her hair was kept down in a unkempt mane, freckles splattered lightly across her face, nails painted a faint red to match. Azelya was a woman with a mission and she knew that her Executive Officer would have to approve her plans for the new security protocols.

"Come in," Bec called without moving from her position. She was standing on one leg, other foot against her thigh with her toes just above her knee, her arms above her head, and palms pressed against each other. While she was wearing black leggings and a loose tank top over a sports bra, she didn't think whomever was interrupting her down time would be bothered by this. Her eyes were closed and she didn't open them, nor look to see who was visiting her. She simply stood there, like that, breathing slowly.

Azelya looked over her Commanding Officer interestedly. While she preferred the statuesque and bubbly Captain to crush on, she had to admit that the much smaller commanding officer was a fine specimen, as well. However, Bec came from Security and she knew threats when she saw them. "Commander, I am sorry to disturb you at this time but I think that we have to protect the Captain from herself and Admiral Wheeler. This mission to Vulcan so soon after our last is not advisable. We need time to recover. So, I took the liberty of drafting up some ideas to protect us before we get to what's left of Vulcan."

Bec turned to look at the woman and raised an eyebrow. "What do you mean 'what's left of Vulcan'?" She didn't move forward, though she did drop out of her yoga pose. "And while I agree that Cindy needs protection from Wheeler, I don't think she needs protection from herself."

"How are you confused by Vulcan being gone? That's what Legacy was made up of.... The remnants of ships that were destroyed by Nero when he destroyed Vulcan." Azelya looked at her Executive Officer very concerned. "Do we need to get you to the med bay, Commander?"

Bec shook her head. "No no, I'm just tired," she said. "It's been a long week," she added with a shrug. "And I've got a lot on my mind. Look, I still don't know what you're meaning about saving Cindy from herself. She's perfectly sane and healthy, what could we possibly save her from? I agree that going to Vulcan so soon is insane, but we have to do what the Admiralty tells us to do." She moved to the chair nearby and picked up her towel and wiped her forehead as she spoke.

"Perfectly sane, perhaps but who is to say that she's still not under Vivyra's influence? She did quite a number on the Captain. It was great how you took command and got her back up." She gave Bec a sly grin. "Damn the Orion for getting what I have only dreamed about." She sighed dreamily. "Anyways, there has to be a way to prevent our trip to Vulcan."

Bec frowned slightly, not sure what Azelya meant about taking command and getting Cindy back up. Something wasn't quite adding up for her, but she didn't dare voice it. "I've been trying to think on that. Short of sabotaging the ship, which I am wholly against, there is nothing we can do." She shrugged and sat down in the chair. "Currently, however, all signs are showing that Cindy has no influence from Vivyra's pheromones. And believe me, I am watching her closely."

"What about Luke?" Azelya asked concerned. "I know that he spent quite a bit of time with Captain Cindy, when she was not with Vivyra. There was even talk on the Ticker Tape of threeways."

Bec laughed. "You have to take those Ticker Tapes with a grain of salt," she shook her head. "She was with Luke a lot, but not with Vivyra. Cindy's been pretty adamant about not being with women. She's straight as straight can be."

"That's what I thought," Azelya replied, her gaze trying to find the floor as she blushed a light pink. "But, she and Vivyra were inseparable and people saw them kissing! I...I...." She kept her eyes firmly on the floor. "Anyways, I just thought that maybe we should do something to protect her more but...."

"That's funny, I never heard of Cindy and Vivyra kissing nor being inseparable. It was Jane and Vivyra that were inseparable," Bec tilted her head and studied Azelya. "Are you getting people confused? Should we take you to sick bay?"

"Commander, I do not mean to be rude, but you are the person that seems to be confused. Jane did receive some exposure, but nothing like Captain Cindy."

"Azelya, I am not confused. I know exactly what happened on this ship. What I don't recall is where you were through all of this," Bec narrowed her eyes, wondering if she needed to call for backup. She moved into a resting ready stance, but otherwise didn't move. "Where did you come by your information? Where were you during the last mission?"

The redhead was taken aback. "I was fighting Orion women after the Doctor's shot. He figured out that the pheromone on Vivyra was working two ways. You took over the bridge from Captain Cindy and I charged into Engineering to save our shields and Lieutenant Avonavi." Azelya's features became concerned. "How do you not remember any of this, Commander? You're starting to worry me."

"The Doctor is a woman. I don't recall Avonavi either," Bec said looking at the woman before her suspiciously. "Who are you? I don't recall you anywhere on this ship in the last few weeks, let alone while we were attempting to oust the Orions!" She moved for the phaser she kept hidden in her quarters. "You best give me a good reason why I shouldn't throw you in the brig right now!"

"Because I'm the Chief Security Officer and have been since launch," she replied holding up her hands. "How could you not recall me?" The woman seemed genuinely concerned for Bec and simultaneously upset.

"Something is not right here," Bec said softly. "Computer, who is the current Chief Security Officer?"

Something very odd happened when Bec made the request. At first the computer said, "The Chief of Security is Lieutenant Commander Charlotte Hudson." However, before anyone could say anything else, the computer replied, "The Chief of Security is Lieutenant Azelya Korr." The redhead looked both pleased and confused by the computer's response. "I don't understand."

"Because I have been the Chief of Security and First Officer since I arrived on this ship," Bec said, then lowered her phaser. "Wait... how close are we to Vulcan?"

"I think that Cat said at Warp 4 that we were 28 hours from Vulcan. That was at about 0900 hours, I believe. Why?"

"Wheeler said something about time distortions. I wonder if we're starting to experience them," she mused aloud. "Now, I have some work to do, if you wouldn't mind..." she gestured toward the door, hoping the woman would get the hint about leaving. There was now a lot racing through Bec's once clear mind.

Azelya looked perplexed at the Commander. However, she was the superior officer. That being said, she wondered if she should bring any of this up to the Doctor. Either way, it was time to go and she left the Commander's quarters.
