Mission: Mission 2 - Love ORION Mistaken
Location: Brig

Messy haired and in a foul mood, Bec stomped into the brig. She didn't look at the gathered security guards, only the woman in the brig. "What in the ever loving hell, Jane? What has gotten into you?? Attacking several crew members? In the middle of the night no less? You better have a friggin good explanation for this!" She stood in front of the forcefield, glaring at Jane, face full of fury, body tensed and rigid.

Jane was no calmer than when she was brought in. She had been given a bandage to staunch her bleeding, though it was already soaked through, a crimson rag she held. Her uniform was torn at the shoulder from the scuffle. Her green eyes burned intensely with rage.

“You want an explanation?” Jane asked. “How about I was doing your job for you! Those five were going to hurt Vivyra! And where was security? Bringing me, her protector — her lone protector, apparently! — into the brig instead!”

"Really? They were going to hurt her? How?" Bec asked, pinching the bridge of her nose. "And there was a security patrol along that corridor. Guess who they haven't seen ALL night?"

“They were standing around, ready to assault her when she came home!” Jane explained. “She’s lucky she wasn’t home yet!” She took a sharp breath in from shock. “Wait, security hadn’t seen her? Then where is she?! Has someone else attacked her!?!” She punched the forcefield, a few drops of blood smattering onto it and trickling down.

"No, no one has attacked her. She was last seen talking with Lieutenant Windsor quite jovially as they left the mess together," Bec said, worried now that Jane seemed oblivious to the fact that Vivyra was not being exclusive with her and was quite happily spending time with others. Whether they were having sexual relations, Bec didn't know, but she did know that Vivyra was making many friends. "They seemed to be having a very friendly chat, according to the security officers who observed them."

“Wot?” Jane asked. She wanted to see Vivyra. She craved it. She held her bleeding hand to the forcefield and pushed against it. “Let me out, Bec. Please. I need to find her.” The rage in her eyes softened, but was replaced with urgency and desperation. She was in agony as she pushed against the field.

"Stop that Jane! Are you willing to destroy yourself just to see a woman?" Bec asked, eyes going wide. "That is enough!! Back away from the forcefield!!" Before Jane could react, Bec moved to the console and hit the comms. "T'Kal report to the brig and bring a sedative! On the double!!"

=/\=“On my way,”=/\= came T’Kal’s voice over the comm system. The nurse grabbed an emergency medical kit and ran out of sickbay to the turbolift.

Thanks to an emergency override of the turbolift, she was able to make it to the brig in about ninety seconds. When she arrived, Jane was wincing, obviously in agony, as she pressed her injured hand into the forcefield. T’Kal got out a hypospray, plugged in ten millilitres of kayolane, and nodded to Bec.

Bec nodded to the security officer near the controls. The second he dropped the forcefield, she lunged into the cell, tackling Jane to the floor. Holding her down so T'Kal could sedate her, Bec couldn't help but feel like a huge jerk. "I'm sorry Jane... this is... for your own good!" She said as she struggled to keep the determined woman in her grasp.

“No!” Jane shrieked as Bec held her down. She struggled hard, adrenaline running through her system giving her a strength boost, but not enough of one. Her hands tried to find purchase where they could, the injured one smearing blood on Bec’s uniform. But it was for naught. She was just a bit too small. As T’Kal pressed the hypospray into Jane’s arm, the Doctor stopped flailing and went limp.

The nurse pulled out a tricorder and began scanning her unconscious boss. “She’s asleep. This dose should be effective for between six and eight hours. I can close her wound. If you wish her restrained, we would need to bring her to sickbay. And truth be told, I do not wish to subject her to the embarrassment of being strapped to a biobed in her own workplace.”

"Yes heal the wound, no to the restraints...for now. If she does this again, I will have to recommend it. But for now, we will see what happens." Bec stood and looked at her uniform. Blood soaked through her jacket and she quickly removed it, folding it so that the blood no longer showed. Too many memories flooded back to her. "I just... don't know what's gotten into her! She was literally trying to force herself through the barrier!"

"I advised earlier than she hasn't been herself lately," T'Kal noted as she crouched beside the unconscious doctor. She took Jane's wrist and began running a dermal regenerator over the wound. It began to close. "She has been increasingly protective and possessive of the Orion. Apparently it was further than either of us expected." The wound healed, she gently placed Jane's hand back down, arranged her so that she slept comfortably on the floor, and returned to the safe side of the cell so the security officers could reactivate the forcefield. She looked Bec over. "Pardon me, Commander, but some of her blood got on your cheek and neck."

Her hand raised to wipe the blood off, but then she paused. Wiping at it with just her hand would simply smear it, so she took the soiled jacket and used it to wipe the blood from her cheek and neck. "Thank you," she said softly to T'Kal. "And I had noted that she hasn't been herself, but this is well beyond anything you or I observed," Bec said, gesturing to the forcefield. "Is there anything you, or any of the other medical staff, can do to test why it is she's become so obsessive? Is it a mental thing or is something else going on here?"

“If I may take your jacket,” T’Kal suggested, “we will collect the blood for analysis. I’ll ensure the jacket is cleaned and returned to you. Ensign Vörös Izabella is the next ranking doctor on board. Absent an Assistant Chief, Doctor Vörös will likely lead the investigation, though I will ensure the results are transmitted to you and the Captain immediately.”

Holding out the jacket, she nodded. "Thank you T'Kal, and I'm sorry that you had to do this," Bec gestured to the now unconscious Jane in the cell. "And I sincerely hope that we don't have to take more drastic measures with her."

“As do I, Commander,” T’Kal replied. “As do I.”
