Mission: Mission 0 - Christening of Legacy and Crew Arrival
Location: Sick Bay
Timeline: 2261.182 0830

After having met with her new Executive Officer, Cindy wanted to continue exploring the ship. She knew that her second executive officer would not likely come to the bridge. Her second executive officer was a doctor and doctors always headed to the medbay first.

The doors to the medbay opened. Anyone inside would have noticed the long duty boots on longer muscular white legs coming in first. The short sleeveless miniskirt duty uniform did not leave too much to the imagination of others. That gold was then followed by long, flowing platinum blonde hair and a smiling face.

Cindy's sweet soprano voice rang throughout the white room, "Doctor, are you in here, yet?"

"Hey...yeah!" A man shouted out before entering from another room, and although he wasn't wearing a miniskirt with long duty boots, was pretty good looking too. His blue uniform did highlight his baby blues.

Seeing Cindy, he stopped dead in his tracks, Wow... "Oh, hey," he smiled widely while not noticing the color of her uniform nor the stripes on her...wherever rank stripes would be on a miniskirt.

He had a husky and slightly deep voice. "I'm Doctor Cole Dering. And who would you be?"

Smiling sweetly and eagerly, Cindy replied, "Cindy, otherwise known as the Captain of the Legacy." She laughed in a way that could create a scene of satyrs playing their pan flutes in someone's mind. "Good to meet you, Doctor. I was hoping that you would be aboard. After all, we are going to have five years together, so I thought that getting to know you now would be best."

Captain...Cindy... had a nice ring to it. Friendly disposition, pretty face, and long legs, she couldn't be more perfect. "Captain," He returned her smile, "it's good to meet you too. And I agree, about us getting to know each other better. So," he gestured towards the room he had just came out of, "would you like to join me in my office, have something to drink?"

Without any hesitation, her eyes beamed as she answered, "Both would be wonderful." Was it the Doctor's imagination or did the eyes start to change from green to blue? She walked past the doctor, her athletic body striding forward confidently into his office.

She waited for him to enter and to direct the chair at which she should sit. "So, what is the doctor's prescription for a drink?" she asked with a friendly twinkle in her eyes.

It took everything in him to keep his eyes up, and he smiled innocently as she faced him. He gestured over to the chair that sat directly on the other side of the desk from his.

"Well, that all depends," he answered, his eyes directing hers to a counter in the corner that held a glass pitcher of clear liquid, a metal carafe, and cream and sugar. "While we're on duty it'll have to be water or coffee."

Cindy sat down, her skirt hiking up as she did so. She crossed her legs, tightening the mini skirt's hold on her. "I guess it was too much to hope for anything else right now, eh?" she asked. "Water, if you please. People think I'm energetic enough without caffeine," she added giggling.

"I can imagine," he said, losing all rational thought for a moment as he watched her every move. "Oh, umm..." It returned, and releasing a breath, he turned towards the counter, "I'll get your that water." What the hell, Cole, get a grip, you're on duty, he had thought to himself as he grabbed the pitcher and started pouring her a glass.

"Thank you, Doctor," she answered politely. "Honestly, though, I hope that your position is quite boring on this ship. Nothing but simple colds and flus. I hope you don't mind that."

Turning back to her, he smiled. "Not at all," and handed her the glass before taking a seat behind his desk. "Even if we're lucky and that ends up being the case," he said, turning on his desk console, and raising an eyebrow, "I'll always find something to do."

"Don't tell me that you're anticipating trouble, too...." She shook her head gently. "Bec thinks that trouble will just follow us."

His brow slightly furrowed, "Oh no.. I wasn't meaning that...Bec? Oh yeah, the first officer... "And she does? Did she say why?"

Cindy sighed. She told Cole, "She said that everything's been thrown into chaos and it is her opinion that with chaos comes instability, which leads to hostility." She shrugged. "I really hope that she's wrong." Her smile started to break a little. "I would much prefer to be exploring the galaxy and discovering new things."

"Well she sounds a little pessimistic," he remarked, and then he thought about his own excitement, the things he anticipated, both with an eagerness of a school boy getting out of school, to the concerns that came with the unexplored. "I think," he began, "and realistically, we may run into some trouble, but I also believe we will have a great deal to look forward too."

"Exactly my point!" she exclaimed as eyes began to become a baby blue. "Exploration is the essence of the human spirit! Nothing ventured, nothing gained!" Cindy shrugged nonchalantly. "And, we may only find new scientific bodies - no people. Who knows?"

"Who knows," he confirmed, caught by her eyes, and then suddenly needing to tear himself away, started looking up her record on his monitor screen. "So..." he paused, needing to release a breath. "When was the last time you had a physical exam?" he asked, looking back to her.

"Should not have been that long ago," she considered. "Of course, doctor, I believe it is protocol to do your own exam when people arrive on the ship. I think that you will be relieved to discover that I am not like other captains. I won't avoid your exams."

"Alright." His eyes soaked her in. "Would you like to do it now, or schedule for another time?" His mind going there again, he hesitantly reigned himself in.

"Whatever you wish, Doctor," she replied shrugging. "I am here now and it may be very difficult to tie me down later." Her now blue eyes beamed at Cole. "So, perhaps it is best to take care of it, now."

With her words, another image had gone through Cole's mind, and he now gave her a Cheshire grin. "I think..." he started, and then stopped as he realized what he was doing again.

He winced, "I'm sorry." And he was. If only they were off duty and she wasn't his captain. "I just remembered my schedule is full. We'll have to schedule this for another day..." he inwardly sighed, "after all."

Cindy wondered why there was a sudden change in the doctor's demeanor. Not willing to pry, as he said he had a busy day, Cindy merely rose. "Well, then, Doctor. Another time - whenever you can fit me in," she said with a smile. "I will let you get to your day, then?"

"Oh..." Lines forming on his brow, he rose with her. Damn... "No questions for me, Captain?"

"Not right now, Doctor. I have everything that I need to know about you for now." She gave the Doctor a warm smile. "I hope that you get everything done that you need to complete before we leave." With that, Cindy strode out of the Doctor's office and out of the med bay.

Wondering what she meant by having everything she needed to know about him, Cole watched her leave. "It was really nice meeting you, Captain Cindy," he said to no one there.
