Mission: Mission 0 - Christening of Legacy and Crew Arrival
Location: Security
Timeline: 2261.182 1630

Bec finished off her tour of the ship with a trip to the Security offices. These had been her old stomping grounds on the Champlain and if she was honest with herself, she really missed being in security. She would probably end up spending a lot of time in the area. As she entered, she saw a woman with brilliant red hair standing not far from the door. "Lieutenant Korr?"

Idly digging, and twisting her fingers through her hair, Azelya stood in an awkward pose before Bec. One knee was propped against the edge of her desk, and she was leaning over with her hands atop it, peering down at a pile of flickering data padds, the light being cast up from them playing across her features. "Hmm? Can I help..."

She trailed off as her head tore away from the reports, eyes flicking up to focus on the woman before her. As realization set in, she moved with frightening speed, jerking her leg back down to the ground, and giving a proper salute with a flushed face. "Lieutenant Commander! My apologies, I didn't know it was you." A smile played across her face, obviously, she wasn't scared, but she did want to ensure she started on the right foot.

Bec had taken in the interesting choice of position Korr had been standing in and smirked when the woman jumped to attention. "No need for that," she said waving her hand. "And it's quite alright. I was just touring the ship and left my favorite part for last, Security." She held out her hand to Korr, smirk still on her face. "I used to be in your position, now I'm a glorified paper pusher, but all joking aside, it's nice to meet you."

At the somewhat gentle verbal jab, her stiff face cracked, a corner of her mouth being forcefully pulled up into a half-cocked smile. "Paper pushing? After being in a place like this?" Her scarred right hand gestured at the cramped office and a stack of contained Phaser Rifles off to the side. "I can't imagine it. At least, not yet."

Extending her same hand, she offered it to the woman before her, the smile now fully having spread. "Apologies for the formality, it's beaten into me at this point. A pleasure to meet you, ma'am. Azelya, call me Az for short. How long were you in Security if I can probe?"

"Six years," Bec shook Korr's hand then gave a shrug, it was short by most standards and she couldn't really say why she'd left, aside from her twin's continued insistence that she go through the command academy. "I'd rather be back here," she admitted, "but I promised my brother I'd give this a shot." When she said "this" she gestured to her new uniform colour. "Oh, and you can call me Bec. No matter what my file says, Bec is my name. I won't answer to any other," she gave a mischievous smile, "unless you want to give me a pet name."

Shaking Bec's hand firmly, she nodded along with her words kindly as she took the woman in, studying her in a rather clinical manner. Fit, poised, and plenty of personality. Makeup use was a bit out of place, but not in a bad way. Of course, she was good looking as well, what was it with the command on this ship being so well put together? "A pet name? Oh dear, I've never been too good at those, I'll have to mull on it awhile." Chuckling, her hands came up to rest on her own hips.

"Command is the goal for so many, nothing wrong with stepping out of this place. I've heard it makes one less cynical, and less paranoid. Cindy's already heard an earful from me on 'what security does to you', so I hope it's nothing but a good experience for you Bec." A brief pause. "...Bec. Bec, and Az." We're starting a naming trend, eh?" The smirk returned, cocking her head to the side. "Did Cindy chase you down for the Legacy, or did something else draw you to the ship?"

"The very idea of the ship, the parts of ships destroyed in battle put together," Bec gave a shrug, "that's what drew me here. Cindy didn't choose me." She chewed her lower lip and leaned against the wall. "And no, my experience hasn't been all good. Like many of our fellows, I am cynical to the core. The universe has been thrown into chaos, and with chaos comes trouble." She gave Korr a small smile, "I think several people are trying to convince me otherwise, but so far, I'm still unswayed."

After chatting with Korr for a while longer about Legacy and security, Bec took her leave. There was still much for her to do, and she wanted to finish it all before they were due to leave.
