Re-Meeting an XO

Mission: Mission 3 - Coming Full Circle
Location: Captain's Ready Room

As Legacy approached what was Vulcan, the strange events continued to happen and at a more rapid pace. Her XO, Abigail Prescott, no, Elias Walker.... She stopped and thought for a moment. She only had one, right? Bec, no, Elias.... They had been on the ship together since the beginning right? She got up and looked in a mirror. Her eyes seemed right. This had something more to do with the time distortions.

She called over the ship comm, =^= This is Cindy. Can my XO, please join me in my Ready Room, right now? =^= For the first time, Cindy wondered who would walk through her door.

Elias rose from the Command seat when he heard the summons to the Captain’s ready room. He passed command to the next highest ranked officer before stepping down and walked towards Captain Jackson’s office. He bypassed the door chime as she already knew he was on his way. “You called, Captain?” Elias asked with a smile.

Cindy looked over at Elias and asked, "Would it seem odd to you if I told you that I believe that I have another XO, Elias?" She stood up from her desk and strolled over towards him, her short gold colored mini skirt teasing at what lay beneath it. "A woman. Bec. I never understood why she was called Bec because I remember a record of Abigail Prescott, but...." She shook her head. "I would have you take over if I did not know that this has been happening to others."

Smiling warmly at Elias she continued, "And I have a theory of what is happening here. I just do not remember you particularly well. Would you be offended if I asked you to remind me?"

Walker frowned, he realised the current mission had had adverse affects on Jackson but he didn’t realise they were this bad. Perhaps he’d ask Doctor Haas to give her a once over at some point in the near future. “Well, I’ve been your first officer since we left space dock. We’ve completed 2 missions, this one being our third together.”

"I know that, Elias," she replied laughing and throwing her long platinum hair back behind her shoulders. "We were ordered to Vulcan just after we dealt with the Orions and shipped off Vivyra. I'm not really sure why we did that. I feel like I didn't want to do that. And the mission before, we had disrupted the Romulans starting a war between us and the Klingons. I remember all of that very clearly but it is as if someone else was superimposed upon it. And...And...she seemed to wanted to bed me, if I recall, not that I swing that way."

The Commander cleared his throat before speaking, “I’ve definitely not trying to bed you during my time aboard, Captain. I think we’ve gained a good working relationship. It’s just a shame that something has made that...hazy for you.”

"If only I was the only one experiencing these issues, Elias.... But, I'm not. From what I have gathered so far, I have 2 XOs, 2 Chief Medical Officers, 2 Assistant Chief Security Officers, 2 Security Officers, 2 Chief Helm Officers, a Chief Navigator that was a fellow Michigander and only one or two others remember...." She shook her head slowly, her hair flowing softly with her shakes. "There's something very strange going on here and my guess is that it has to do something with the time-space distortions from Vulcan."

“It could well be. Perhaps extensive proximity to the distortions are doing you more harm than good. Maybe Doctor Haas can give you a once over, make sure everything is as it should be?” The Commander offered.

“Haas? I would swear that I remember him in communications.... But, as you say, it can’t hurt to check things out.”

“I’m quite concerned that you’re not acting like your usual self. Perhaps you should step aside from Command while we get this sorted?” Elias said with a concerned tone in his voice. “I have to say, I don’t like seeing you in this way, Cindy.”

"I don't like being this way, Elias," Cindy confirmed. "However, I don't think I should step aside yet. I have some mixed memories, that is true. But so does much of the crew." She walked over to him and put her hand on his shoulder, "I'll double check this with Doctor Haas. I promise. But, I think that we have to sort out what is going on with this ship. If this is a hallucination, it is a mass one and it will not stop with me. I know that I was telling Jane, Kevin, Xenia, and Neza my working theory on this."

“As long as you’re sure you can continue. If things get too much please, let me know. I can take some of the burden from you.” Walker replied.

"You are not my yeoman," Cindy teased Elias. "And you should be careful how you say such things. Another girl might take advantage of it." She tossed her hair back and gave a short sweet laugh.

“You know what I mean.” Elias replied with a chuckle. “However, I’m not adverse to a girl taking advantage of me.”

"You should be much more picky, Elias. Honestly, not adverse to any girl taking advantage of you...." She snickered again and said, "But, I should probably put your concerns at ease, no?"

Walker chuckled, “My wife died a few years ago now, perhaps I should put myself back on the market.” He said before moving back to the topic at hand. “Easing my concerns would be good, I’m not saying you aren’t capable to command, I just want you to be safe while doing the job.”

"I appreciate that, Eli. You're a good man and I'm sure that if you want to find another woman, you will be able to do so rather easily. Just don't rush it, OK?" Cindy gave him a genuine, warm smile.

“I’m in no rush.” He replied with a chuckle.

"Good. Now I'm off to see the CMO and then I need to talk with our Chief Science Officer. In the meantime, take the bridge and make sure that we stay out of trouble."

“Yes, ma’am.” Eli said with a nod and a smile before turning and exiting the Captain's Office.
