Mission: Mission 2 - Love ORION Mistaken
Location: Ship’s Bar

Steffan sat at the bar looking at a small box which sat in front of him, while he nursed a glass of whiskey. He kept turning and fiddling with the glass, which the contents had remained untouched since ordering the beverage almost an hour earlier.

Xenia sauntered in, fresh off her latest shift on the Bridge. She found a spot at the bar, and ordered a bourbon. After a few moments of watching the gentleman next to her stare lovingly at his drink, she leaned over. "Maybe you two should get a room," she said with a wink.

“Huh?” Haas said looking up to the person who spoke. “Oh, hey Xenia. How you doing?” He replied coming out of his own thoughts.

She sat back, centered in her own chair again with a grin. "I'm well. How about you? You seem to be more interested in looking at that than drinking it." She gave him a questioning look, one of mirth mixed with actual concern if something was wrong.

“Yep.” He said looking back at the small box. “There’s a big question behind this box.”

Xenia eyed the rather nondescript box, then looked back to Haas. "Like...THE big question?"

Haas nodded, “THE question.” He said looked at Windsor. “Wanna help me out with some advice?”

Xenia readjusted her posture in her seat to face him, with a smile on her face. She didn't usually run in the same circles as the senior Comm Officer, but she had seen him and Science Officer together before. The invite made her feel like she was on the ground floor of the planning for what would be a big moment for the two of them, even though he very possibly could have told friends who were much closer to him. Still, she was flattered that he would take her into his confidence. "I can't say I'm in a position to give any," she said honestly--she had yet to field a successful romantic relationship. "But I'll give it a go."

“We haven’t been dating all that long but I feel she’s the one. I’ve neber felt like this about anyone before. I love her. But I don’t want her to think I’m coming on too strong.” Haas said.

Xenia thought about it some, not sure what to say when she couldn't gauge Neza's feelings. But maybe he could help answer. "Has she mentioned how she feels?"

“Yes. She loves me as much as I love her.” Stef replied.

She nodded. "When you're together, is she kinda shy, or does she..." Xenia gestured with her hand making circles as she tried to think of how to word this part of the question. "...match your passion? Or excitement?"

“She does match my passion. There’s no doubt that we both love each other very much. I want to spend the rest of my life with her.” The Comms Officer replied, looking at Xenia. “But I don’t want the question to ruin things between us.”

"Well, I tend to think that if she feels about you what you feel about her, that's not too much of a problem. But if you need some insurance, perhaps when you ask, you could add something about planning it on her time, that you're willing to wait if she doesn't want to rush into it."

Steffan nodded, he hadn’t considered adding that in the proposal, it wasn’t unreasonable. “Thanks Xenia, I appreciate the advice. Sometimes you need someone else’s prospective on this type of thing.”

Xenia nodded, and held up her drink. "If you need the caveat, fine. But go with your instinct first." Her smile widened, "And cheers, mate. I hope you you two are happy."

Haas smiled as he picked up his own. “Cheers. I appreciate the advice. I think I’ll take the bull by the horns and ask her.” He said before downing the drink he’d been nursing for a while.

Xenia smiled and stood. "Tell me how it goes, yeah?" She patted him on the shoulder before heading for the door.

“Will do! And thanks.” Haas replied.
