Mission: Mission 2 - Love ORION Mistaken
Location: Cargo Bay
Timeline: 2261.224 1200

Neza had been digging through the wreckage of Vivyra's ship with Gente and Lamia. It'd been about 3 hours, and she finally pulled her hair back and leaned against a wall, looked to the other two. "I feel like we're looking for a needle in a haystack."

"Agreed, we have our orders." Gente said, as he briefly looked to Neza, and then continued to dig. He was eager to get back to Engineering. "Do you have any suggestions, on how to make this go faster?" Gente asked, with a curious look on his face.

"As much as I wish I did, you heard exactly what I heard in that meeting, Gente," Neza said as she pushed up off the wall. "Even a hint at anything is better than nothing though."

Lamia had been glued to her work, but not so much so that she was not listening to the conversation. "It's not about finding the children so much as it is locating the breadcrumbs" said the Deltan. "An old Earth tale" she explained. "Though various versions of it change the breadcrumbs out, nevertheless anything small is better than nothing at all."

Pointing to Lamia, Neza nodded, "Exactly that. Anything is better than nothing at all."

"Well let's find those bread crumbs then." Gente pointed out with a big cheesy smile on his face. He was trying to cut the tension between himself and Neza. It was clear, she was not happy with his initial idea.

Neza shrugged. “I think after three straight hours we can take a small break. Then yes, the breadcrumbs.” She was exhausted, she knew why. She stayed leaning against the wall. “We haven’t found a single thing yet, have we?”

Gente started to digging again, "will find it" He said to the fatigued Neza. They were all tired, but they had a mission to do at the moment. He was trying to reassure Neza, that he was not ready to give up, just yet.

"How're things on your end, Lamia? If you need a break feel free." Neza gave a smile, finally pushing up off the wall. "You have more energy than I do, Gente."

"Perhaps, or maybe I just want to get back to Engineering." He suggested with a playful manner to his tone. He would have preferred to be in engineering. He knew though, when he became a department head he would have to go on away missions. He never expected the away mission, would be to dig.

Xenia entered the cargo bay, clearly walking in a rush. "I apologize for being late. I got pulled aside on my way here. Where can I start, anywhere in particular?" She approached the wreckage, visually taking in the damage.

Neza shook her head, "You're fine, Xenia. We're just...I guess looking for a needle in a needle stack?" Finally going back to the pile of debris, she started to dig in again. "Pick a spot."

Xenia looked over the debris field, and figured she'd start in a new spot. The battered remains of the hull were probably where she'd find the answers she'd posed anyways. "I'll start with this," she said.

"I believe Neza, was going to tell us a story, to make the time pass by." Gente said, with a big grin on his face. Time to get the attention off of him. And place it back on her. She seemed better suited, to get people to open up.

Gasping, Neza shook her head, "I did not!" She ran a scan of what she had and tossed it to another pile. "Besides, you know we're limited on the time we have here."

"Could have made the time go by faster. Unless you prefer to hear the three of us grunt, with all this physical labor. Personally I rather hear a story from you." Gente said, as he continued to dig. He was starting to get into a rhythm.

Xenia raised a brow, not sure how to take the banter between the two. "Well, what was the purpose of your search before I volunteered myself for this? I'll keep an eye out for any evidence while I'm looking signs to whom the other ship may have belonged."

Gente was not sure what to say with Xenia's response. He looked at her for moment, and with a half smile. He looked to Neza and said. "She has a point, I think." He teased with a big grin. This was not the way, he saw his first away mission going. Despite his feelings about the mission, they had a job to do.

Lamia had listened to the others chatting back and forth. She found it amusing to an extent, yet mildly distracting; However, it did add to the ambience of the room. She could not deny that working alone would have been mind numbingly dreadful. "I'm determined to find something" she said aloud. "Anything at this point would be progress" added Lamia.

Xenia winked back to Gente in response to his teasing as she approached the hull of the shuttle. She began examining the outer walls as she responded to Lamia's very generic response. "Progress toward what?" she asked, trying to keep the sarcasm that came naturally out of her voice. "I confess, I had my mind on my own questions during the officers' meeting, so I'm not sure what your context is."

Neza smirked at them. "I think Gente is causing trouble, Lamia is right about anything being progress." She looked to Xenia as she tossed another useless piece aside, picking up another. "I think we were all full of questions honestly. This whole thing doesn't make sense." She looked over the new piece. "Anything that doesn't look like normal scrap we set aside and look over. Which...I haven't seen."

Gente remained silent, but gave a slight grin on his face. When he heard Neza said, he was causing trouble. "This will be a long search, but we will find something out here. How can we fail when we the greatest science officer of the Legacy, having our back!" Gente said, trying to boost up Neza's ego a little.

Xenia nodded, still not sure what they were after. But she didn't want to stir the pot too much as the newest crew member, so she resumed her analysis of the hull and the blast patterns on the outside. After that, if she could get access to the helm computers, she'd see what information that yielded.

"Really Gente?" Neza asked with a slight eye roll as she ran a scan of another item. "Come on...there must be something here. Anything at all, even to give us a direction to go or..something." She was getting frustrated.

As they shifted the debris, Gente noticed a small piece, that caught his attention, he bent down to pick it up, and handed it over to the Neza, with a grin on his face. "What about this?" He asked, hoping it was a lead they could follow. He wanted Neza to look at it as well.

Setting down what she had, Neza took what Gente had and looked it over. "Storage device. Damaged but, if we can get anything off of it." She looked to Lamia and Xenia. "Looks for more of these, quick. Gente, hook this up to the computer and see if we can pull anything at all off of it. Even a single number of a coordinate would be more than we had before."

Gente reached for a data pad and his tricorder, he was linking it up with the USS Legacy's computer core. The initial up link would take a moment to complete. As he started the up link, he started to wonder a little about how things were going in Engineering. Even though, he was grateful to be on an away mission, he really did like working in Engineering.

Xenia scanned the sides of the hull. There was definitely damage from the shootout this little shuttle had been in the middle of. And the signs that weapons were shot from in front and behind were evident. She analyzed the residue burned into the sides and ran it through her tricorder. Trace elements did show what was likely phaser fire from Orion ships in front...and yes, from behind as well. Those results were a step in a forward direction, but she still wanted to look at the sensor readings from the console. Picking her way through the debris, she found her way inside, well what was left of the inside. She was going to have to do some deep computer searching with the damage done here.

Going over to where Gente was working on the information, Neza glanced at what was coming up. “If you find even one coordinate, let me know, yeah?” She walked back over to the others. “Can you guys confirm it was actually Orion against Orion on this one? It looked like it on sensors but who knows what the weapons signatures left on these show.”

Gente started to scan the material debris, trying to find proof that the orions were involved. Gente started to scan the device, no concrete proof, then he started to scan the dirt near the location, were the device was located. Some of the soil had mini fragments. Those fragments, had a weapons signature. "These mini fragments, have a weapons signature consistent with Orions weapons fire." Gente said, hoping they could confirm his scans. He looked to Neza.

"At least that's one confirma..." the computer went off as Neza was speaking and she went to check the results from the data storage device. "Better than nothing," she kicked on the comms, =^=Glenn to Jackson. Cindy, we've confirmed it was Orions weapons fire. And, we've got at least one coordinate out of one of the data storage devices we found. Possibly could lead us to where we need to go.=^=
