Mission 2 - Love ORION Mistaken
Location: Legacy Bridge
Cindy was on the bridge when another alert sounded. Neza and Xenia's consoles started to show that some of the Legacy shields went down.
Eyeing her console carefully, Neza shook her head, "How...Our shields were brought down by someone on the ship!"
"What? Why? Who?" asked Cindy in rapid succession, more than a little confused. "Can you get me the authorization codes of the person that did it?"
'I'm reading transporter signals," Xenia reported. She tapped her console, finding more information. "Four new life signs on board, Sir."
The communications officer reported, "The Orion Captain wants to talk again."
Cindy's eyes darkened and she audibly growled, feeling angry with herself and aggravated at the situation that Legacy was currently embroiled. "Put him on."
The male Orion smiled pleasantly. "Are you having problems with your technology, Captain? I am sure that we could offer you some diplomatic aid."
"Would you, now?" Cindy asked darkly.
"Of course!" The Orion Captain replied. He then licked his lips. "Perhaps you would like to come aboard to show your appreciation?"
Cindy cut off the communication disgusted. "Status!"
"The shields are still down, but I'm not seeing any more transporter signals. No one else has beamed aboard."
"Can either of you lock out the controls to the weapons and shields from anywhere but the bridge? I want those shields back up, now!" Cindy called out, her dark eyes glaring at her crew.
Catching Cindy's eyes, Neza bit her lip and nodded. She was glad to be clear headed again, but didn't like the explanation she was going to give. "I can, but it isn't exactly Starfleet approved. If you're okay with that, it won't take me long." She looked over to Xenia, then back to Cindy.
"We have a ship to protect," Cindy answered. "What do you plan on doing?"
With a heavy sigh, Neza started to work. "A few science tricks I learned that weren't taught by the instructors at the Academy. High end sci-tech, so basically," she hit a few commands, "Locked everything down and only you, Bec, or...unfortunately since I set it up, myself, can unlocked the controls. Anywhere on the bridge can access them as long as one of us is here and type in our codes. And any on the bridge that currently are accessing them still have access."
"I hope that inoculant holds up," Cindy told Neza. "Bec is out there and with Vivyra. By giving Bec control access, we still may be at risk." Cindy sighed and flipped her hair behind her shoulders. "I trust Bec with our lives but with all of this going on.... I hope she strong enough."
"The trick doesn't let me not authorize the commanding and first officers. We can still take control back from here if we see it being misused."
"OK. Tell me what you plan on doing, then. How you plan on accomplishing it...."
Glancing over to Cindy and Xenia, Neza gave a small shrug. "I'm your science officer. What you do now that we have the control back is up to you."
Cindy blinked a couple of times. Clearly there was a communication issue. She was more curious as to what Neza had done to the controls and how she guaranteed them, not discussing issues of command. However, for now, that communication gap could be set aside. Her ship was under siege and they needed to do something about it.
